What guests say about The Yards

The Yards is a flat, grassy hilltop with 360-degree views of the Scenic Rim. Guests watch the moon rise, the sun set and hot air balloons at sunrise, and can look down on the working cattle yards. They love the sense of having a whole hill to themselves, the room for dogs to run off-leash, and walks down to the creek for a swim. It is one of the easiest sites to reach: the track is straightforward and guests say it takes a 16-ft van comfortably. One reviewer said it felt like something out of a fairytale. Guests often note having firewood delivered to camp and warmly praise Mike and Kate's hospitality. Worth knowing: It is exposed on the hilltop, so expect wind. Cows can be vocal in some seasons, and the creek is a walk rather than a drive away.
